Where are you based?
My Short-Eats is based in Makarewa, Invercargill.
Are you a registered business?
My Short-Eats is an Invercargill City Council-registered home bakery business and undergoes verification every 18 months.
When are you open?
We are open Sunday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. While we are closed on Friday and Saturday, pre-confirmed custom orders will still be fulfilled.
I want to place a custom order. How can I do that?
You can enquire about custom orders here. Please fill out the order form, and we will be in touch within 3 working days.
How long notice do I need to give for custom orders?
We generally require 1 month of notice for custom orders, but this may vary depending on the design and requirements of the order. To secure a preferred pick-up time and date, we suggest that you submit the order form as early as possible.
Do you deliver orders?
We currently deliver within the Invercargill region. Please note that a delivery fee will be added according to the delivery address. On the checkout page, please write the delivery address and the fee will be automatically calculated.
Do you offer same-day pick-up/delivery?
We currently do not facilitate same-day pick-up or delivery. Please note that for all menu items, we require at least 3 working days of notice. This means you need to place the order at least 72 hours before the pick-up/delivery time.
I don’t live in Invercargill/NZ but I would like to place an order for a relative/friend. Is this possible?
Whether you live in Invercargill/New Zealand or elsewhere in the world, you can place an order with us to be delivered to a relative/friend in Invercargill. Please specify the name and contact details of the order receiver in the checkout section. If you would like to enquire about a custom order for someone living in Invercargill, please fill out our custom order form and we will get back to you within 3 working days.

What types of cake icing do you use?
We use buttercream icing, whipped cream, cream cheese, and chocolate ganache to cover the outside of our cakes. While we do not use fondant icing to cover cakes, we use fondant to make small decorations such as flowers or miniature figures.
Do you make gluten-free cakes/cupcakes?
While we currently do not accommodate gluten-free or dairy-free options, we can arrange for nut-free and egg-less options. Please contact us for further details.
